ABOUT TANIA

Growing up with a European heritage, Tania's passion for good food and wine started very early. The defining wine moment came at the age of 7 when she slipped during harvesting and fell into a 500 litter barrel full of freshly picked Merlot grapes. Her grandfather "fished her out" and she proudly sported a lovely pink “glow” for a few days before it finally washed out. That was when she first “fell” in love with wine.

As she grew up, like many foodies, she found the time to live abroad in London, England, Milan and Venice, and travel extensively through Europe, especially France and Italy. This opened her eyes to the pleasures of fine food & wine. Tania's favorite wines come from the French region of Burgundy and a favorite dish is a wild mushroom risotto with truffles ala Milanese.

While living in Toronto, Tania's fascination with fine wine lead her to study wine with the  International Sommelier Guild and later with the prestigious, internationally recognized Wine and Spirit Educations Trust, based in London, England.  In 2013, while living in Vancouver, she was awarded a Certified Specialist of Wine designation by The Society of Wine Educators, based in Washington, DC.

Over the last decade, she has written numerous articles and wine reviews as a columnist and a wine reviewer with Canada’s largest wine websites. She also appeared as the wine expert guest on Rogers Daytime Ottawa Television and a wine writer at FoodService and Hospitality, Canada’s Hospitality Business Magazine.

Now living in Canada’s capital, Tania continues to travel throughout Europe & North America in search of the best wines and food pairings. Her love of photography and a keen sense for an eye composition, color, and perspective lead her to focus on capturing the intriguing world of wine, food, and travel on camera and preserving the essence of the moment.
